After the conclusion of the free practices for the 2024 Mexican Grand Prix, Carlos Slim Domit spoke about the future of Sergio 'Checo' Pérez and his contract with Red Bull for 2025. He expressed his desire to put an end to the rumors surrounding Pérez and to set aside the topic for the English media that often criticize the Mexican driver. "What will happen to 'Checo' next year?" Slim Domit was asked, to which he responded: “I think he has already clarified it (Sergio Pérez). A recognition of the work they have been doing all their lives to be here.”

Regarding Franco Colapinto, the Argentinian driver from Williams, Slim Domit praised his performance and highlighted the team's effort to improve. He commented that he admires both Colapinto and Sergio 'Checo' Pérez and Patricio 'Pato' O'Ward, the latter participating in Free Practice 1 of the 2024 Mexican Grand Prix. He highlighted O'Ward's work in Indy and the satisfactory tests with McLaren.

Slim Domit was questioned about the possibility of supporting Colapinto under the Telmex team, to which he pointed out that there have been no approaches so far, but he showed admiration for the driver. Regarding the rumors about Pérez with Red Bull, Helmut Marko from Red Bull mentioned that everything depends on Pérez's performance, and Christian Horner confirmed that he is the driver for the 2025 F1 season.

Carlos Slim indicated that both Pérez and Max Verstappen, his teammate at Red Bull, need a better car. He expressed that it is unclear if there are differences in the RB20 that both drivers are driving and emphasized Verstappen's difficulties in maintaining his competitiveness. He stated that the British may have their doubts, but he trusts in the performance of the Mexican drivers.
